a look for an specific occassion, that is why at times we tend to say " I have nothing to wear", when there is
a wardrobe full of clothes, very often even brand new with tags still on.
That is why we have compiled a list of fashion rules, that can help you ease the process of creating an amazing outfit.

So here is the list of 5 fashion rules to consider when styling an outfit.
As the rules says, use a max of 3 colors when putting together an outfit, it will make you look more stylish, remember less is more
This rule is more related to adding new items to your wardrobe. Before buying any new garment and even if you are really in love with the piece, think of 5 different outfits you can create with it, if it is impossible to come up with at least 5, then you should probably stay away from it and avoid wasting your money.
This rules talks about creating outfits with a maximun of 8 points or minimun of 5. The way to assign points is by items and you give 1 point to articles that are minimalistic a plain solid color top, or a skirt and 2 points to prints and statement pieces. For example a white camisole is one point, if added over a print asymmetric skirt which is 2 point you'll have 3 already, then add a jacket, jewelry and simple pump shoes, for a max of 8 points. If you go over 8 it will be too overdone or if it is less than 5 you are too simple.
The ideal number of points for any given outfit should range from 6 to 8. Your outfit will be too simple with 5 points but too much with anything exceeding 8 pointsThis rule help you balance proportions in you outfit. It is call the Golden ratio, and it is the way to divide a picture to get the most aesthetical division from it. That means divide your looks is 1:3 the top part and 2:3 the bottom, this will help elongate your figure and give your outfit a better shape. If it is cut 1:2, the middle, it will look boxy and shorter.
This rules iwill help you create the most functional wardrobe. It says that your wardrobe have to be created with 80% basics and 20% trends. That way 80% of your clothes will not go out of style when the year ends, but it will be there to be mix with the next trend.
